These past few weeks, we have been working on securing land and planning to build a house for a Pastor that has worked with our partner mission, Good Samaritan Baptist Missions for over 35 years. In talking with our missionary friends with Good Samaritan, Arold & Stephany Mejia, they communicated an issue they’ve been having with Pastors who are coming to retirement age. As the Pastor’s age, but they are worried about retiring because they wouldn’t have a home to live in, as most of their homes are parsonages, which belong to whoever Pastors the church. These amazing men of God have served faithfully for so many years, and they feel very uncertain about their future and how the last years of their lives will look.
One of these Pastors, is Pastor Pompilio. He has been with Good Samaritan, pastoring for 35 years! He and his sweet wife live in a church that is rented for them, funded by the mission. Pastor Pompilio’s family came to us about possibly helping them to build a retirement home for their parents. We couldn’t think of ANYONE more deserving of a home to finish their last years in, without worrying about paying rent, than a faithful preacher of God’s word.

Jason went with Arold to tell Pastor Pompilio that we were going to begin raising money to build them a house. They were overwhelmed, to say the least! Pastor Pompilio cried and cried! He was so thankful and overwhelmed that we would raise money and build him a forever home.

On our last trip to Honduras, we met Pastor Pompilio and his wife at Burger King and talked to them about their new home! Our entire family was so happy to be able to meet them. They were so humble and overwhelmed at the plan for a house.
We actually found a donor REALLY quickly when we arrived home! A friend approached us that wanted to give to fund the build for this entire house! PRAISE THE LORD! As I’m typing this, their land has been purchased, and the house design is finished. This project should be completed soon. We’ll keep you updated on the progress!
We are so thankful that God is still moving. We are constantly shocked and overwhelmingly grateful that he’s allowing us to build homes. What an HONOR to bless these precious people in the name of Jesus!
